Different categories of Electric Bikes/Scooters

What is an electric bike

Electric Bikes consist of a modified or custom bicycle frame with pedals but include an electric motor, usually in the form of a hub motor, mid-drive motor or belt drive connected to the rear wheel. They allow a rider to either pedal the bike or leverage the power of a battery and motor drive system.

Electric Scooter

An electric kick scooter is a small platform with two or more wheels that is propelled by an electric motor. Besides the motor, propulsion can also happen by the rider, pushing off to the ground.

The most common scooters today have two hard small wheels, are made primarily of aluminum and fold for convenience. Some kick scooters have 3 or 4 wheels, or are made of plastic, or are large, or do not fold. High performance trickster scooters made for adults resemble the old "penny-farthing" with much larger wheel in front. Electric kick scooters differ from electric scooters in that they also allow human propulsion, and have no gears. Range is typically about 5 km, and maximum speed is around 30 km/h.

Electric bicycle

An electric bicycle, also known as booster bike, is a bicycle  with an integrated electric power which can be used for propulsion. There are a great variety of booster bike available worldwide, from booster bike that only have a small motor to assist the rider's pedal-power to somewhat more powerful booster bike which tend closer to moped-style functionality: all, however, retain the ability to be pedaled by the rider and are therefore not electric motorcycles. Booster bike use rechargeable batteries and the lighter varieties can travel up to 25 to 32 km/h (16 to 20 mph), depending on the laws of the country in which they are sold, while the more high-powered varieties can often do in excess of 45 km/h (28 mph). In some markets, such as Germany, they are gaining in popularity and taking some market share away from conventional bicycles.

Folding motor bicycle

folding motor  bicycle is a bicycle designed to fold into a compact form, facilitating transport and storage. When folded, the bikes can be more easily carried into buildings and houses or on public transportation , and more easily stored in compact living quarters or aboard a car, boat or plane.

Folding mechanisms vary, with each offering a distinct combination of folding speed, folding ease, compactness, ride, weight, durability and price. Distinguished by the complexities of their folding mechanism, more demanding structural requirements, greater number of parts, and more specialized market appeal, folding bikes may be more expensive than comparable non-folding models. The choice of model, apart from cost considerations, is a matter of resolving the various practical requirements: a quick easy fold, compact folded size, or a faster but less compact model.

There are also bicycles that provide similar advantages by separating into pieces rather than folding.

Motorized scooter

motorized scooter  is a small scooter designed to have the rider primarily in the standing position with a small motor attached. These scooters are generally designed with a large “deck” in the center on which the operator may stand. Gas powered stand-up scooters use a small utility engine(often designed for use in industrial power equipment) attached to the rear of the scooter. The first production scooter, the “Sport,” was released by Go-Ped in 1985. Since then, the industry has exploded with the creation of many new brands and technologies.

Electric motor cycle

An electric motor cycle, also known as an e-bike. E-bike use rechargeable batteries and the lighter varieties can travel up to 30 to 50 km/h, depending on the laws of the country in which they are sold, while the more high-powered varieties can often do in excess of 60 km/h.

Drift Electric Motocross

Ride anywhere without noise. This bike is extremely powerful. On a tight race course you will absolutely destroy similar sized gas bikes. Wheelies and burnouts cannot be avoided. This is not a toy and is strictly for offroad use only.

Electric motocross begins with a 19+ horsepower (14,400 watt) electric vehicle motor and programmable controller. The power is stored in a special quick-change power pack that can deliver up to 600 amps. Then it's wrapped in the lightest handcrafted aluminum frame. The design is so revolutionary.

The Drift is an intermediate sized bike. Perfect for young adult and adult riders, but small enough to be carried in a SUV or on our hitch rack

Sondors

The Sondors E-bike (originally called “Storm”) has permanently changed the E-bike landscape in North America.
One of the features of the Sondors bike that the public has really responded to is the triangle case in the center of the frame, and how it hides the wiring. It seems like a small thing, but customers really like this a LOT.
